LFA to Launch Investigation into Alleged Bribery and Financial Inducement

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has been made aware of serious allegations involving financial inducement and bribery, specifically concerning some club officials accused of financially inducing clubs to vote against the LFA budget during the LFA extraordinary congress held on May 25, 2024. In addition, it has been alleged that a club president attempted to financially induce journalists to suppress a published article, as evidenced by a social media post from journalist James Goodday Flomo on January 1, 2025.

The LFA has received a complaint from a stakeholder on the issue, which has also been brought to our attention through various channels, and considering its nature, which is a potential violation of the CAF and FIFA Code of Ethics, individuals involved will be forwarded to the LFA Ethics Committee for investigation and final decision-making.

The FA is committed to maintaining the integrity of football at all levels and upholding the highest ethical standards. Allegations of bribery, if proven, are a violation of these standards and will not be tolerated. CAF and FIFA Code of Ethics prohibit bribery, corruption, and any form of unethical behavior in the sport. These codes are integral to ensuring the integrity of football and maintaining the trust and credibility of the global football community.
