LFA Launches Anti-Doping Training for 75 Participants
Liberia Football Association’s First Vice President has described as “exciting” the launch of a second Anti-Doping Awareness Workshop in the development of football in Liberia.
Sekou Konneh (Prof) was speaking today, 4 October, at the launch of the event at the LFA HQ, where he encouraged more than 75 participants to see football as scientific.
“Today is an exciting moment in the development of our game. Football is more scientific today, going beyond conventional style considering the introduction of new philosophies.
“I’m asking everyone to take advantage of this Anti-Doping training, which will enable you to serve as ambassadors,” Prof. Konneh cautioned.
In a welcome remark, General Secretary Emmett Crayton urged participants to convey the message properly, so that it’s not seen as a “witch-hunt”.
“Today, I look forward to participants carrying the message so that people don’t see anti-doping as witch-hunting,” Mr. Crayton said.
The program will bring together more than 150 football stakeholders from clubs, players’ representatives, and medics.
A team of Liberia local medical experts headed by Dr. Clarence Yaskey will serve as facilitators for the two-day event.
