FIFA Project Team Visits Liberia
A team from the FIFA Development Office for West and Central Africa is currently in Liberia to enhance football development in the country.
The delegation includes EL Hadj Wack Diop, FIFA’s Regional Development Manager for West and Central Africa, and Nataniel Nascimento Brito, FIFA Project Manager for West Africa.
The visit focuses on evaluating infrastructures developed by the Liberia Football Association (LFA) with support from FIFA through the FIFA Forward Program, as well as identifying opportunities for sustainable football development.
On Tuesday, the team visited the LFA headquarters and had a meeting with President Mustapha Raji and General Secretary Emmett Crayton, followed by a tour of the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg.
During their stay, they will also visit the Blue Field pitch, dedicated to LFA grassroots programs, the Tusa Field, the SKD Practice Pitch; and the Willie Knuckles field in Paynesville.
They will also attend the semifinals of the ongoing U-20 WAFU A AFCON Qualifiers at the SKD Sports Complex.
The FIFA team’s presence highlights the organization’s commitment to fostering football development in Liberia.
Their findings from the visit will help shape future FIFA projects aimed at empowering Liberian football and inspiring the next generation of players.
