This will be the second time the tournament will be held in Liberia after it was last hosted in 2018, with The Gambia emerging as champions and Liberia finishing as runners-up.
The junior Lone Star, under the guidance of acting head coach Emmanuel Kaykay, has continued preparations for the past few weeks and will be looking to secure a milestone qualification for the junior Lone Star at the 2025 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Furthermore, it will be the fourth WAFU A tournament to be hosted in Liberia since 2018. Liberia has hosted two editions of the WAFU A CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers and the 2022 WAFU A U15 tournament.
